In February, students received an informational letter regarding Mini-Martian Marathon registration. Last week, students attended an assembly to hear all of the details about participating in the Mini-Martian Marathon. Today, we want to share the specifics of this great opportunity with you!
Any student interested in joining our Mini-Martian Marathon team (K-5) may sign up or register online.

Our team is called the Whitmore-Bolles – Blue Wave 12:00 Start. The password is Eagles15.
If you do not have access to a computer or the internet, you may pick up a form outside the gymnasium and complete a paper copy.
The cost of registration is $15 + $1.25 if you register online.
The last day to register at this rate is Tuesday, March 10th.
Mr. Tapp will hold a meeting on Wednesday, March 11th (during the school day) to inform participants when they will be able to practice with our team. A note will be sent home with participants.
Preparing for Race Day:
- Students will begin their trek toward completing 25 miles before the race date by using a log book, which they will receive March 11th. They will need to work outside of school in order to complete the 25 miles. Students are welcome to use some of their recess time to log a few laps!
- After completing 10 miles in the log book, each runner will receive an inflatable martian.
- Students who complete their log book before April 18th (Race Day), will receive a glow-in-the-dark bracelet.
- During the week of the race, parents will need to pick up their child’s t-shirt and race bib. More information about this will come at a later date.
Race Day Information
- Parents will be 100% responsible for their children throughout the race (before and after). Any parent of a younger child may run the 1.2 miles with your child.
- Each child will receive a marathon medal when they cross the finish line.
- Each parent not running with their child should be at the finish line waiting and looking for their child. You are free to go as soon as your child completes the race.
- There will be a posted site for any child that feels lost.
