The noon hour supervisor’s primary function is to supervise students in the school and/or on the
playground during the assigned period. The supervisor works with the school administration to maintain
order and helps students when assistance is needed.

Performance Responsibilities

  1. Observe and supervise students during the assigned work period.*
  2. Maintain order and be constantly cognizant of the students’ safety and well-being.*
  3. Supervise indoor activities in the assigned area in case of inclement weather.*
  4. Report accidents or injuries or any other problems to the Building Principal, including the nature of
    the situation and action taken and prepare an accident report when necessary as directed by the
    Building Principal.*
  5. Maintain standards of conduct expected by the School District when the students are eating their
    lunches or playing on the playground.*
  6. Check the physical set-up for the lunchroom and playground equipment and report any routine
    hazards which would offer actual or potential threat to the students under supervision. Clearing the
    cafeteria tables and encouraging students to clear their area in preparation for the next period.*
  7. Assist students when the need arises, with clothing and lunches.*
  8. Supervise the loading and unloading of Kindergarten students on school buses in cases where this
    duty is applicable to the position.*
  9. Participate in in-service training programs as assigned by the Building Principal or the Director of
    Human Resources.*
  10. Meet with the Building Principal periodically to review and discuss policies, procedures and matters
    of mutual concern.*
  11. Perform such other reasonable duties during the work period as assigned by the Building Principal.
  12. Keep halls clear of students during lunch hour.*
  13. Monitor doors to prevent unauthorized entry.*
  14. Prevent students from entering halls or the building with food and beverages.*
  15. Monitor lavatories.*
