Literacy Night- A Huge Success!

Over 350 people gathered at Whitmore-Bolles this evening to celebrate the start of the March is Reading Month festivities! This event was standing room only!

The audience was serenaded in the auditorium by our third grade singers and the Eagle Chorus, led by Mrs. Kalasz. It was delightful to listen to the students sing about reading and Dr. Seuss!

(The video above may take a few hours to process. Check back later!)

Students and families then chose a gently used book to read by the fireplace in Mrs. Hamel’s classroom, enjoyed some trail mix in the cafeteria, and created bookmarks! Our staff action team did an awesome job coordinating these fun activities! Thank you to the staff volunteers: Ms. Tatta, Mrs. Stawara, Mrs. Fleming, Mrs. Schuit, Mr. Cares, Mrs. Malone, Mrs. Hankins, and Mrs. Buhr (and anyone I may have forgotten)!

The Scholastic Book Fair was hoppin’ all evening, too! Books were flying off the shelf as Mrs. Sulla checked families out with her awesome volunteers.

Thank you to all of the families who braved the winter weather to join us tonight! Don’t forget to wear red clothes tomorrow in honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday!
