Letter to Whitmore-Bolles Community
Thursday July 7, 2022
Greetings Whitmore-Bolles Community,
As part of our ongoing efforts to keep our school community informed, I would like to share with you information regarding an event that occurred during our summer program.
On Wednesday, June 29, following district protocols, an instructional staff member was sent home when it was reported that inappropriate measures were used to address a student’s behavior. The student and staff member are both part of the Summer Instructional Program at Whitmore-Bolles.
The District immediately launched an investigation and gathered the facts surrounding this event. All employees are afforded due process and union representation. The district followed all investigative procedures to reach the outcome.
Several administrators, including the Superintendent and the Human Resources Director, immediately reached out to the student’s parents to assure them that this has been a top priority to the district.
The safety of our students, your children, is a priority for all of us here at Whitmore-Bolles. Our entire staff is committed to making sure we are providing all students with a safe and secure learning environment.
Regards,
Gregory R. Oke, Principal
Whitmore-Bolles Elementary School
